Cross is currently seeking a Grant Coordinator to support the
Alabama and Mississippi Region. This position can be located
anywhere in the region and is a hybrid opportunity. You will travel
for meetings a couple times a year, but the majority of the work is
remote.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:Grant Coordinators are responsible for
coordinating the full range of activities required to prepare,
submit and manage grant proposals and reports. They will also
Research grant opportunities that matches goals and objectives of
the chapter or region. Gathers information such as data and impact
stories and coordinates/writes grant proposals to government,
corporation, United Way, and foundation funds. Also responsible for
developing other fund-raising materials such as stewardship reports
and email templates.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:
- Identify, pursue, cultivate, and enhance relationships with
foundations and government agencies in support of funding
needs.
- Research, develop and write proposals to secure grants from
foundations including the United Way and other grant-making
organizations.
- Collaborate across the organization to determine needs and
identify fundable projects fitting organizational strategies.
- Coordinate and comply with all grant reporting as required by
foundation/corporate donors and United Way.
- Conduct initial review of planned proposals and submission
guidelines to determine feasibility and suggest positioning. WHAT
YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:Education: High School or equivalent
required.Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or
equivalent combination of education and related experience
required.Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and
written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal
Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database
applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.Travel: May
travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout
chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.WHAT WILL GIVE YOU
THE COMPETITIVE EDGE: Experience writing and reporting grants. A
writing sample will be asked for during the interview process.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $20.00 -
$24.00/hr. This job will be posted for a minimum of five business
days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded. Note
that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific
geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other
factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may
include your specific skills, how many years of experience you
have, and comparison to other employees already in this
