  • 50 mile radius rule
  • Unit: 5 South hematology oncology
  • # Beds: 32
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: hem/onc, chemo
  • Level 1 trauma experience required.
  • Experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients
    • Job Requirements
    • Required certifications: BLS
    • Charge RN's have ACLS
    • Experience with EPIC charting is required
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hours shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a
      • Travelers are expected to fill holes, block scheduling may be accommodated
      • Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard
      • Rotate in with regular staff for holiday requirements
      • No call or standby requirement
      • Floating within skillset between all medsurg units
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Manager will teach clinician how to administer CHEMO - can be a great learning opportunity
          • Additional Details
          • BLS; 1/20 START DATE
          • FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT - Remote process must allow 10 days, In Person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start
          • FLU VACCINE IS REQUIRED at UMMC - only medical exemption is allowed
