  • Job Details
  • MedSurg 6 West CC11244 position at University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
  • General MedSurg unit with a focus on various patient populations including congestive heart failure, diabetes, post-surgical care, trauma, and respiratory illnesses.
  • Charge RN's are required to have ACLS certification.

    • BLS certification required.
    • Charge RN's must have ACLS certification.
    • Level 1 trauma experience or experience at a larger facility with high acuity patients is required.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12-hour shifts, either 7a-7p or 7p-7a.
      • Travelers are expected to fill scheduling gaps but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows.
      • Weekend requirement is every other or 2 weekends per month, could be higher based on department needs.
      • Holiday rotation with regular staff is required.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 up to 1:6, adjusted for higher acuity patients.
        • All MedSurg units have tele capability and patients are monitored on all units.
          • Additional Details
          • BLS certification is mandatory; only medical exemptions for the flu vaccine are allowed with documentation.
          • Fingerprint requirement must be completed either in person at the hospital one week prior to start or remotely with two weeks for processing.
          • Travelers accepted at $60/hr.
