  • Job Details
  • Level 1 trauma center in Mississippi needs RN's for the Hematology/Oncology unit.
  • Chemo cert is NOT required.
  • Must have solid experience as an RN - at least 1 yr on first job.
  • 1 or more yrs of Level 1 or VERY Large hospital experience required.
  • Travel experience with extension is preferred.
  • EPIC CHARTING experience is required.

    • Experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients.
    • Must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes, hem/onc.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a.
      • Managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows.
      • Open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required.
      • Weekend Requirement: every other or 2 weekends per month is standard.
      • Holiday Requirement: rotate in with regular staff.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • # Beds: 32
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients
        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: hem/onc, chemo
        • Experience or 'Must have' skills: level 1 trauma experience required, experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients.
        • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Both. Charge nurse takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed.

          • FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT - Remote process must allow 10 days, In Person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start
          • OPEN TO 48 HRS/WK @ Flat Rate (OT billed after 48hrs)
          • Must work at least 3 of the following 6 dates: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, New Years
